We‘ve had the opportunity to be part of amazing projects.
2012-12-07 - Brenaissance Estate Stellenbosch
Brenaissance Wine and Stud Estate is situated up and along the beautiful Devonvalley Road, Stellenbosch. Between the vineyard and plum orchards lies this jewel.
The Estate, being flexible with the Hall, Courtyard, Accommodation, Rose Conservatory and the Café, can cater for any event. The trees had to accommodate such flexibility as well. By keeping it simple and not mixing species, it gives the feeling of contingency and remains timeless.
Brenaissance planted various trees to complement the architecture and surrounding landscapes.
Many Populis simonii trees were planted for screening at the back of the Rose Conservatory. The clear stemmed Populis simonii trees will support the feeling of height.
These trees do not spread out, they grow in a columnar shape, therefor ideal to plant next to buildings. They were planted alongside walkways to guide visitors to the next point of interest.
Celtis sinensis trees were planted to provide dappled shade for it develops a large canopy that turns golden yellow in autumn and bares it’s impressive shapes in winter.
Betula pendula alba trees were planted as a cluster next to the Hall and the Courtyard. It’s soft branches droops in a pendulum fashion, softening the had outlines of a building. It contributes greatly to the fairy-tale ambiance with its flaking white bark.
