Meet the team at Just Trees: Olivia Minaar

If you’ve ever paid a visit to our spectacular nursery in Paarl, you most likely would have met the vibrant, warm and friendly head of our Sales team, Olivia. We thought we’d take a moment to allow you, our wonderful customers, to get to know our team members a little better. Read below for an insight on Olivia’s journey with Just Trees thus far.

How long have you been working at Just Trees?

I joined Just Trees in May 2016, so it’s 4 years now. Hard to believe!

What is your role at Just Trees?

I am responsible for the Sales & Marketing for Just Trees and if you visit our nursery, I’ll be the one to show you around and help you select your trees.

How did you start working for Just Trees?

I had been working in the Corporate sector for most of my employed life! I was looking for a change, a challenge or just something new and different to what I was used to. I took a chance and applied for the job. I have a background in Sales & Marketing but I knew very little about trees… I learned everything on the job – I had some amazing teachers! 😊

Most memorable moment at the nursery?

My most memorable moment was the first time I drove through the nursery – it was in Autumn and the trees were changing colour and dropping their leaves. There is a beautiful lookout point where you look down on the trees. The nursery looked so beautiful with the Autumn colours and all I could see were rows and rows of trees. I thought to myself, how lucky am I to work in an environment like this?

What is your favourite tree?

It’s a toss up between the Lagerstroemia indica because of its beautiful flowers come Spring/Summer but also the beautiful barks they develop with age, and the Erythrina caffra because of its flaming red flowers.

Favourite project you’ve been involved in?

it would have to be Bosjes – the planning and detail that went into this project is incredible. The farm is absolutely breathtaking!
